1. About these terms
These terms are between you and The Finance Woman (“Finance Woman”, “we”, “us”), operator of thefinancewoman.com (the “Site”). They cover the Site, our free tools and planners, articles, newsletter, events and introductory calls (together, the “Services”). Our Privacy policy, Disclaimer and Cookie policy form part of these terms.
2. Education, not advice
Our Services provide financial education and general information. We are not a registered investment dealer, adviser, portfolio manager, financial planner, insurance agent, tax preparer or law firm, and we do not provide personalised financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. We do not sell, recommend or receive payment for financial products. Read the full Disclaimer.
3. Who may use the Services
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live. You agree to give accurate information when you subscribe or book a call.
4. Tools and estimates
Our calculators and planners produce estimates from the numbers you enter and from public rules we last reviewed on the date shown on each tool. Government rules, rates and benefit amounts change, and your situation may differ. Results are illustrations, not guarantees or recommendations. Check official sources such as Canada.ca and the Canada Revenue Agency before acting.
5. Introductory calls and events
Free calls, webinars and events are educational. Anything discussed is general information, not advice about your personal situation. Sessions are not recorded unless we tell you in advance. Please do not share account numbers, passwords or government ID numbers during a session.
6. Acceptable use
- Use the Services lawfully and respectfully.
- Do not copy, scrape, resell or republish our content or tools, or use automated systems to access them in a way that burdens the Site.
- Do not try to break, probe or bypass the Site’s security.
- Do not submit false information or sign up other people without their permission.
7. Our content
All content on the Site, including text, tools, illustrations, logos and the Finance Woman name and marks, belongs to The Finance Woman or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international law. You may view, print or save content for personal, non-commercial use, and share links to our pages. Any other use needs our written permission.
8. Testimonials
Testimonials reflect individual experiences shared with permission. They are not typical results or a promise of any outcome.
9. Third-party links and services
We link to government sites and other resources for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
10. No warranty
We work hard to keep content accurate and current, but the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant that content is complete, current or error-free, or that the Site will always be available.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Finance Woman, its founders and team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for financial loss arising from decisions you make using the Services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection law in your province.
12. Indemnity
If you misuse the Services or break these terms, you agree to cover reasonable losses we incur as a result, to the extent the law allows.
13. Changes and termination
We may update the Services or these terms. We will post changes here with a new date; continuing to use the Services means you accept them. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which The Finance Woman operates. You keep any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province of residence.
